Drummond declared that summer’s a bummer because there were no kids on his block to play with. Little by little everything changed when Dorene moved in, and then Louis, and then Rae. The story is all about the friendship, creativity, adventures, and imagination of the “friendly four.” The bummer summer turned into the Goodsummer and, although they knew they would be separated from one another for the fall, winter, and spring, they all looked forward to seeing each other again in a year! This is a great book about friendship.
