Welcome to Day 6 of 10 Days of Math Games & Activities! For the next four weekdays I will continue sharing lots of fun, hands-on math games and activities to utilize with your children or students! Today’s game is called Circle Subtraction!

Circle Subtraction: FREE Printable Math Game

Materials Needed:

1) Colored pencils or wet/dry Erase Markers in multiple colors

2) The Circle Subtraction grid included in the downloadable file

Prepare to Play: Print the grid included in this file. Laminate or slide into a page protector if you plan to use wet/dry erase markers.

Directions: The first player circles any number on the grid. The next player circles another number. For the remainder of the game, the players take turns circling the number that is the difference between any of the previously circled numbers. Play continues until there are no more numbers that can be circled.

The Game in Action (with 3 players): Player A circles any number on the grid.

Player B circles another number, any number.

Player C decides to subtract 79 – 16 and circles the solution, 63.

Circle Subtraction: FREE Printable Math Game

Player A decides to subtract 63 – 16 and circles the solution, 47.

Circle Subtraction: FREE Printable Math Game

Player B decides to subtract 79 – 47 and circles the solution, 32.

Circle Subtraction: FREE Printable Math Game

For the remainder of the game, the players take turns circling the number that is the difference between any of the previously circled numbers. Play continues until there are no more numbers that can be circled.

    No winner per se…just lots of practice subtracting. However, the “game” does end when there are no longer any numbers available to circle.
