Download and print this fun (FREE) number recognition and counting game for your little race car fans!

When my boys were small, they loved racecars! (In fact, they still enjoy racecars to this day!) When they were little, I created this racecar game for them to help work on number recognition and counting. The game set up and instructions are super easy!

Racing Racecars Printable Game Board

You only need a few supplies for this game. However,  I do have some helpful hints that can make your game more durable and more fun!

Racing Racecars Game Supplies:

  • Racing Racecars gameboard (scroll down to download game)
  • one die numbered 1-6 (or Education Cubes with the Number insert cards)
  • laminator & laminating sheets (optional)
  • dry erase markers (optional)

How to Play the Racing Racecars Game:

Roll the die and mark off or circle the corresponding number on the racetrack. The first number rolled 10 times wins. Once you have a winning racecar, draw a star or check mark in the box.

My boys liked to play until all the cars “finished the race,” so they just continued until each box had a star or check mark in it.

Alternate Game Play:

Rather than using a numbered die, use a standard die with dots (or Education Cubes with the Dot Counting insert cards).

Roll the die, count the dots, and mark off or circle that number on the racetrack.

Helpful Hints:

I laminated the game so that the boys could use it over and over again. By doing this and letting them use dry erase markers, I avoided having to print out multiples of the game.

If you don’t have a laminator, you can simply slide the game into a page protector and reuse it that way!

While dice are perfectly fine to use, we preferred using our Education Cubes. These large, customizable blocks are perfect for small hands!

And, since they are soft, mom doesn’t have to listen to the repeated clanging of dice hitting the table!
