Download and print this FREE Montessori style, seasonal matching activity and easily make this “Which Season do I Belong to?” file folder game!

We love printable games, especially file folder games! They are usually easy for me to make and they are fun, educational activities for the kids. Plus, they can be easily stored because they are usually enclosed within…you guessed, a file folder!

Seasonal Matching File Folder Activity

The “Which Season do I Belong to?” file folder game that I made uses some fun, FREE Montessori style printables. (You can get access instructions to download the PDF file further below.)

How to Make the “Which Season do I Belong to?” Activity:

This is seriously one of the easiest file folder games I’ve ever made. Just grab a file folder and using a marker and a ruler, divide it into four sections as shown below.

After printing and cutting out the seasonal matching cards, find the four cards labeled Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall. Using a glue stick, attach them to the four sections as shown below.

And, that’s it! Now it’s time to play!

How to Play the “Which Season do I Belong to?” Game:

Mix up the remaining cards so that the child can decide which season each of the objects belong to. The child, then, places the cards, one by one, in the appropriate seasonal quadrant/section.

If you want to play with multiple children, simply take turns placing the cards with the appropriate season.

Please note: Some of the pictures could work for multiple seasons, so be sure to have your kiddo explain to you why they think the picture belongs with that particular season.

Love it! I finally got around to printing the picture for the other ones. I put together the apple one (a big hit) and need to spend some time cutting out the butterflies! Thanks for the great ideas 🙂 Enjoy the rest of your weekend~

You really do put together wonderful file folder games. I just print it out and then don’t finish my ideas. Sigh, it’s true.

I love all your file folder games! I found that I was a little confused with some of these pictures too – many could have been for more than one season. I ended up putting stickers on the back so I’d know which season each one went with, but I like your idea better – let the child pick the season and then explain why. Brilliant! 🙂
