Tiny Talk Tuesday: Cowgirl & Horseboy

We were driving down the road and we saw some horses. KJ began to talk about how much she loves horses (just like her daddy) and how she wanted to buy one as a pet. Her and Husby continued to discuss horses a bit more and then KJ announced that she wanted to be a cowgirl. JJ quickly says that he would rather be a horseboy. I never really thought about it until then. Why do you call someone who rides horses a cowboy or cowgirl? Horseboy or horsegirl really does seem to make more sense…not just to a 4 year old…but to me to! :-) Anybody have the answer?

Be sure to head of to Mary at Not Before 7 for more cute tiny talk on her blog carnival, Tiny Talk Tuesday!

GOOD QUESTION. I’ve never thought about it. Maybe because in the olden days {as my son calls it} the cowboys rode the horses to round up or drive the cattle!?!

GOOD QUESTION!!! I’ve never really thought about it. Maybe it’s because originally in the olden days {as my son like to call it} the cowboys were the ones who rode the horses to round up or drive the cattle?!?
